Open the July 31rst EHAG Emporium!

Thank you for stopping by to have a look at my July EHAG Emporium offering! She is the Sweetheart of the Vaudeville Stage and goes by the name of Katze Von Sterner. You should see her songs and dances when she takes a turn in the glow of the footlights! No one does a better version of  "Oh, By Jingo" or "Mistress Mumbo Jumbo." Of course, no STAR of the stage would be much of anything, without a spectacular costume. Katze is dressed in one of her favorites which includes a star headdress of glittering gold trimmed with a soft black fringe (her head fits right through it) and a frothy frock made entirely of antique Dennison crepe paper. For more playful fun and to create the illusion of a stage setting,  Miss Katze arrives with tri-fold screen that includes "scrim" panels with applied gold stars and lots of frivolous gold braid trim. Katze Von Sterner stands 7.25" tall and again, her screen is included. Item is Sold... Thank You, B. Paypal (with id is
preferred, but other payment options may be considered. Please email me at to check availability and don't forget to see all
the other fine offerings from the EHAG artists.

as i mentioned in this post, i can really only get work done around the house when my prandsome hince is out of town. so my first mission was to get all this cleaned up..

so i could put this together...

it was a lovely housewarming gift from my aunt kay and my father. my mom was going to buy it for me before she passed away so aunt kay (who, in all reality, is my mother's soul mate.. seriously) and my dad jumped all over that and it was shipped to our house about 2 weeks after the funeral.
they are so sweet!

it came in about 300 pieces. i was a little overwhelmed at first. i have put together BYO furniture before but never anything this complicated.

(any good ideas for covering a dog's crate?)

i quickly started praying for an extra hand to spurt forth but it never happened. it took a lot of muffled naughty words (caused by cussing with a tiny allen wrench in my mouth while squinched in the cabinet trying to screw the top into the bottom) and several second tries, but by golly, here she is!

the cutting board on top was a wedding gift from a very skilled craftsman who is a friend of my dad.

he has actually (no jokes here) built his casket, and on the outside it say.. "casket made by contents". a little creepy yes, but the man is a genius when it comes to woodwork. unbelievable.

this is also my very first attempt at a vignette. not even close to being interesting... but it was what i had at the time, so i stuck it up there. :D

all in all, i am pleased with the cart. i am going to use it to keep my serving ware in and possibly some other stuff but right now she sits empty, but full of possibilities!

Recreating the Unwanted

Can I just tell you that I am exhausted!  I was sold out of my frames on Etsy so I had to "recreate and replenish".  Thursday and Friday were spent searching for new inventory and then today has been spent working, painting, sanding, distressing, sealing, cutting, displaying, photographing, editing, and listing my new three new items...whew!!!! This Etsy thing is a lot of work....but I do love it :).

What do you think?

These are my upcycled vintage and antique frames that I fix up, put lipstick on and send back out into the world for a second chance at love :).

These would be great displayed on a wall as a grouping.  My antique chalkboards are wonderful for weddings and nurseries.

For more info on these frames check out my Etsy shop at

Thanks for stopping by!

Handball is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball to throw it into the goal of the other team. The team with the most goals after two periods of 30 minutes wins. Modern handball is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the form of field handball (which was more common in the past) and beach handball. The International Amateur Handball Federation was formed in 1928, and the International Handball Federation was formed in 1946.

Holger Nielsen, a Danish gym teacher, drew up the rules for modern handball (håndbold) in 1898 and published them in 1906, and Rasmus Nicolai Ernst, another Danish teacher, did something similar in 1897. Another set of team handball rules was published on 29 October 1917 by Max Heiser, Karl Schelenz, and Erich Konigh from Germany. After 1919 these rules were improved by Karl Schelenz. The first international games were played under these rules, between Germany and Belgium for men in 1925 and between Germany and Austria for women in 1930.

Why Yellow?

As a follow up post to my last post, here is the inspiration for my "sunshine yellow Hollywood Regency esque" upcycled lamps.

source unknown

Photo: Geoffrey Hodgdon.

So much fun....

Ok going to bed now.

Sometimes a Girl Just Needs Some Color!

While I love all things white; white slipcovers, white linen drapes, white lamps, white furniture, I still, every now and then, get a sudden urge for dose of color.  Take for instance these brass lamps. I could tell immediately that they would look hot in a bright Hollywood Regency-esqe color.

What color did I chose?

YELLOW!!!! Bright, sunshine, make me happy yellow!

What do you think?  These make me soooo happy!  Too bad I already sold them....

Ever wish that you could get back something that you created?  And yes I know they really don't go with my decor...but man I miss those lamps!

Oh well....just another day's work..

Happy Friday!

New Hostess Aprons

Perfect for those back yard barbeques! I have found some more vintage hostess aprons...
Lots to choose from - have fun!!!

Hey Pals,

It's me Katie!  Can you believe Mama got out the grooming table last night and brought it up to the loft?  Hmmm, she said I need my hair stripped AGAIN!  What do you think???

She told me that I'm still going to keep my LONG ear hairs.  We want to make sure that my ears stay down.  So for a few more months I'll keep my long ears, hehehe!

I only have a few baby toofers left to fall out.  When they are all out, then I'll cash in my toofers to the TOOFER FAIRY!  We have my toofers kept in a container.  I should make out pretty well since I've been so good with teething.  I haven't chewed on any furniture or clothes, or anything at all.

Now Mama told me I could chew on these intruders since they like to eat all of our hostas and flowers:

I can't figure out why they never want to play with me.  I wiggle my tail at them and watch them, but they just stare.  Then eventually they trot away.  HOW RUDE!!!
